Shawn P. "Lump" Blanton, age 50, of Wellston, passed away Tuesday, August 26, 2025, at the Grant Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio.  He was born February 3, 1975 in Gallipolis, Ohio, son of James Blanton, Jr. and Vickie A. Henry McKenzie.  Shawn, known to many as "Lump" will be remembered for his free spirit and his love of the open road.  He wasn't a man who followed the crowd – he carved his own path, for better or worse.  Shawn worked hard as a welder and mechanic, trades that suited his hands-on nature.  He was known for his ability to fix just about anything and for his willingness to help others when he could.  Shawn was a man of few words, someone who preferred action over conversation.  He lived life on his own terms, with a deep love for mud running, motorcycles, music, and the simple joys of a good time with friends.  Though life wasn't always easy and relationships had their distance, Shawn's family remains a part of his story.  He leaves behind his children, Emma Mock (Nathan), Ethan Blanton (Heather Miller), and Isaiah Blanton; his grandchildren, Alayna Mock and Caleb Mock; his loving mother, Vickie McKenzie; sisters, Stacy Sharp (Micheal) and Amy McKenzie; brother, Timmy McKenzie; and a special uncle, Larry McKenzie, as well as many nieces, nephews, family and friends.  Shawn was preceded in death by his father, Jim Blanton, Jr., and his grandparents, Helene and Bob Siders, Donna Lock (Henry), and Richard Henry.  In keeping with Shawn's wishes, Shawn will be cremated and there will be no formal services.  A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date, where stories and memories can be shared.  Ride free, Lump.  Arrangements are under the direction of the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston.  Online condolences can be sent to the family at www.mcwilliams-funeralhome.com.
