Shirley A. Whiting, age 84, of Jackson, passed away Thursday, December 22, 2022, at her home.  She was born April 11, 1938 in Louisa, Kentucky, daughter of the late William A. Maynard and Ethel Fitzpatrick Maynard.  Shirley was a loving homemaker who enjoyed fishing, camping and spending the summertime at Lake Erie.  Shirley also faithfully attended the Jackson Baptist Temple.  She is survived by her daughters, Darlena Johnston (Kerry) of Hazen, North Dakota, Barbara McClure of Columbus, and Kimberly Cain-Gilmerr (Dale) of Jackson; grandson, Tony Gilmerr of Jackson; great-grandchildren, Xavier, Rhett, Kane and Emberlyn; and sister, Hazelene Harrison of Columbus.  Besides her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by husbands, Bill Cain and Carl Whiting; son-in-law, Mark McClure; 2 brothers and 3 sisters.  Calling hours will be Wednesday, December 28th, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Jackson Baptist Temple, 177 Industry Drive, Jackson, Ohio.  Funeral service will follow the calling hours at 1 p.m. with Pastor Allen Gibson officiating.  Private family graveside service will be held Thursday at the Greenlawn Cemetery in Columbus.  Arrangements are under the direction of the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston.  Online condolences can be sent to the family at www.mcwilliams-funeralhome.com.
