Stephen Michael Ward, age 68, of McArthur, passed away Wednesday, January 26, 2022.  He was born July 27, 1953 in Toledo, Ohio, son of the late Stephen Hugh and Patricia Ann (Johnston) Ward. Steve was a 1971 graduate of Vinton County High School. He retired from the Vinton County Highway Department in 2016 after 30 years of service. Steve attended the McArthur Church of the Nazarene for most of his life. He always kept busy working and loved to keep his cars and yard looking nice. Steve loved being outside, relaxing on the porch and also enjoyed spending time with family, especially his grandsons. He is survived by his wife of nearly 47 years, Rita Sue (Fee) Ward; daughter, Melissa (Todd) Barlow; son, Michael Paul (Mandy) Ward; grandsons, Max Lee Ward and Luke Michael Ward; siblings, Rebecca Wogan, Timothy (Cindi) Ward, Gary (Christie) Ward, and Rita (Matt) Acker; as well as several nieces and nephews. Steve was preceded in death by his parents.  Calling hours will be Sunday, January 30th, from 11 to 1 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston.  Funeral service will follow the calling hours at 1 p.m. with Pastor Todd Barlow officiating.  Steve will be laid to rest in Elk Cemetery.  Online condolences can be sent to the family at www.mcwilliams-funeralhome.com
