Marilyn Sue Blankenship, age 84, of Wellston, passed away Monday, August 14, 2023, at the Holzer Medical Center in Jackson.  She was born February 22, 1939 in Wellston, Ohio to the late Ralph C. Downard and Rhea Laverne Hill Downard.  Sue was a 1957 graduate of Wellston High School.  She was an employee for 44 years of the former Frick-Gallagher Manufacturing Co. in Wellston, where she worked in the payroll department.  Sue was an animal lover who enjoyed taking care of everyone's animals.  Over the years, she also loved riding in her convertibles and taking Jeep rides. Sue is survived by her longtime companion, Russ Mobley; nephews and their wives, Scott and Tami Downard of Wellston, Bruce and Nina Downard of Jackson, and T.C. and Jacquie Downard of Wellston; aunt and uncle, Judy and George Harris of Cuyahoga Falls; along with several great-nieces and great-nephews.  Besides her parents, Sue was preceded in death by her brother and sister-in-law, Dick and Helen Downard.  Calling hours will be Friday, August 18th, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston.  Funeral service will follow the calling hours at 1 p.m. with Pastor Arthur Robinson officiating.  Burial will be in the Mt.
