Terrance Robert "Terry" Brennan, age 76, of Wellston, passed away Friday evening, March 6, 2026, at the Holzer Medical Center in Jackson from injuries he received in a tragic accident in Wellston. He was born December 7, 1949 in Portsmouth, Ohio, son of the late Robert Lawrence Brennan and Frances Joan Rudity Brennan. Terry graduated from Wellston High School with the class of 1968. During his high school years, he was very active in track and football, coached under the strict supervision of his father, Bob Brennan. Following graduation, Terry went on to earn a Bachelor of Education degree from Ohio University. Terry was an educator who taught physical education and health. His first year of teaching was at Jackson High School and the next 32 years were spent at Wellston High School, from where he retired. He was the former owner and operator of Giovannis/Brennan Family Pizzeria in Wellston which is still owned by his son. Terry also owned Estep's Gym in Wellston. He was a nationally recognized power lifter and power lifting coach, as well as a certified strength and conditioning specialist by the NSCA. He was a devout Catholic and member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Wellston. Terry was a respected teacher, coach, businessman, mentor and friend in the Wellston community and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Cheryl Elaine Clark Brennan; sons and daughters-in-law, Brandon and Nicole Brennan, Shawn and Amy Brennan, and Erron and Alex Brennan; grandchildren, Braelyn, Branson, Averie, Baron, Audrey, Mykenna, Cadynce, Piper and Nick; sister, Bonnie Brennan; niece, Melissa; nephews, Chris and Trevor; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Lori and Lorn Little, and their sons, Christopher and Beau (Sarah); special family friends, Stephanie and Chad Wooten, along with many other special friends. Besides his parents, Terry was preceded in death by his sister, Kristin L. Brennan, and long-time friend and life mentor, Roger Estep. Calling hours will be Thursday, March 12, from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston. Mass of Christian burial will be Friday, March 13, at 1 p.m. at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Wellston with Father Thomas Herge as Celebrant and Father Joseph Trapp as Concelebrant. Burial will follow in the Ridgewood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations in Terry's memory be given to either of the following: Jackson County Dog Pound, P.O.
