Obituary

Wanda M. Bryan, age 80, of Byer, passed away Friday, June 21, 2024, at the Holzer Medical Center in Gallipolis, Ohio.  She was born January 24, 1944 in Wellston, Ohio, daughter of the late Homer Q. Leach and Virginia Sorrell Leach.  Wanda graduated from Wellston High School with the class of 1962.  She was a military police wife who experienced living all over the world with her family.  She was also a former employee of General Mills in Wellston for over 25 years.  Wanda loved to travel, especially going on big family vacations at the beach.  Family was a big part of Wanda's life, and she loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren immensely.  She also enjoyed camping and was an avid collector of trinkets, bells, magnets and angels, just to name a few.  Wanda was a member of both Emmanuel House of Prayer and Byer Church.  She is survived by her children, Virginia "Ginny" Dillon (Tony), Ira William "Buddy" Bryan, Jr. (Paulette), and Lori Fuller (Junior Milliken); grandchildren, Edward Bryan, Brittany Bryan, Caitlyn Moran (Justin), and Jake Byler (Amber); sister, Ruth Ann "Susie" Loomis; sister-in-law, Marian Sorrell; along with several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.  Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Ira William "Bill" Bryan in 2017; grandson, Brandon Bryan; and brother, Jack Sorrell.  Calling hours will be Sunday, June 30th, from 1 to 3 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston.  Funeral service will follow the calling hours at 3 p.m. with Pastor Wil Gillem and Pastor Travis Potts officiating.  In keeping with Wanda's request, cremation will follow the service and private burial will be in the Byer Cemetery.  Online condolences can be sent to the family at www.mcwilliams-funeralhome.com.
