Wanda Nadine Childers, age 77, of Wellston, passed away Wednesday, May 22, 2024, at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, Ohio.  She was born June 27, 1946 in Wellston, Ohio, daughter of the late Vinton and Cynthia (Buckley) Slavens.  Wanda was a loving homemaker and former foster mother for several years.  She loved to cook and also enjoyed gardening, listening to music, and spending time with her family.  Wanda is survived by her husband of 60 years, Herbert D. Childers; children, Mike Childers, John Childers, and Kelli Childers; grandchildren, Braydon Childers, Maddie Childers, and Presley Childers; sister, Maxine Jacobs; along with several nieces and nephews.  Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by 10 brothers and sisters.  Calling hours will be Sunday, May 26th, from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston.  Funeral service will follow the calling hours at 2 p.m. with Pastor Steve Mathews officiating.  Burial will be in the Log Pile Cemetery.  Online condolences can be sent to the family at www.mcwilliams-funeralhome.com.
