William R.
Kendall M.D.
March 31, 1928 – July 27, 2019
Dr. William "Bill" R. Kendall, passed peacefully in his sleep in the early morning hours of July 27, 2019, in Massillon, Ohio. Born March 31, 1928, to Edgar Lee and Garnette Kendall, in Wellston, Ohio, he attended Ohio schools as well as Ohio State University Medical School, graduating in 1959. Bill married the love of his life in youth and old age, Virginia "Ginny" Cerola, on March 21, 1953, and together they raised four children, who meant the world to them and were their most important accomplishment, and later, loved and enjoyed their four grandchildren. Bill was very proud of his time spent in the Army during the Korean War. He loved his country and served with pride and integrity. Bill worked as a dedicated anesthesiologist for over 50 years, saving many lives and impacting many more. Bill loved his patients and loved being a doctor. Bill's profession took the family to many places throughout the United States, but Houston, TX became home to the Kendall's in the early 1980's. Virginia passed away in 2010. Bill met Grace (Gay) Baker in 2012, and they were married August 25, 2012. Grace was "the love of my life of my twilight years" according to Bill. Bill and Grace enjoyed many wonderful years together, often traveling and visiting relatives. Bill was a kind and gentle man, who loved his Maker and His Son, his family, his patients, and fellow man and woman. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, wife Virginia, and son Robert Jay Kendall. He is survived by his wife, Grace Kendall; sons William R. Kendall, Jr., (Lori) and Tracy Judson Kendall, (Tracey); daughter Jaye Ellen Palm-Leis; grandsons William R., III, Paul, Alek, and Thomas. Bill is greatly missed, but fondly remembered, now and always. Services will be held Saturday, April 1, 2023, at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston, with a masonic service beginning at 11 a.m. followed by a memorial service with Pastor John Pelletier officiating. Burial, with military honors, will follow in the Ridgewood Cemetery. Online condolences can be sent to the family at www.mcwilliams-funeralhome.com.
