William B. "Bud" Parker, age 91, of Jackson, passed away Monday, December 2, 2024, at Adena Regional Medical Center in Chillicothe, Ohio. He was born May 8, 1933 in Glenroy, Ohio, son of the late James T. Parker and Garnet B. Humphreys Parker. Bud was a 1951 graduate of Coalton High School and a veteran of the United States Army, having served during the Korean Conflict. He was the former owner and operator of Parker's Pennzoil in Jackson for over 15 years. In his spare time, Bud enjoyed golfing, woodworking, and home remodeling. He was an avid sports fan and particularly enjoyed cheering for The Ohio State Buckeyes and the Jackson Ironmen. Bud is survived by his wife of 72 years, Lucretia Ann "Hoody" Deck Parker; children, Bruce Parker (Janese), Rob Parker, and Mitzi Jones (Clayton), along with 5 grandsons, 7 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his son and daughter-in-law, Brent and Tammy Parker; and brothers and sisters, James Parker, Willard Parker, Albert Parker, Roger Parker, Mildred Jacobs, Freda Price, Charlotte Beatty, and Georgia Wenzenread. In keeping with Bud's request, cremation followed his passing. A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date and burial will be at the convenience of the family in Greenlawn Memory Gardens in Coalton. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate contributions in Bud's memory to any Hospice organization of one's choice. Arrangements are under the direction of the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston. Online condolences can be sent to the family at www.mcwilliams-funeralhome.com.
